Australian Drought Tolerant Plants   Leave a comment

Spring is just around the corner, blossoms starting to bloom and the gold of the wattles wonderful to see. Today is really really cold but after all it is still officially winter for another few weeks.

I have started a new garden bed which I will plant with Australian native plants suitable for the Rushworth area, for overseas networkers Rushworth is an old gold mining town with a population of 1000 in Central Victoria Australia surrounded by one of the few remaining iron bark forests and old gold diggings.

In the spring there are great walks and many wildflowers are to be found.

Like most of Southern Australia we have been in drought now for some time and with water restrictions have to think about what is best to plant to survive the dry. I will try to name some of the best and add photos.
