Check One note icon is in the system tray in bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Start the program you wish to take a screen shot of, for example, Photo story, Paint.net, Word or any other program of your choice.

Click on Win+S to do a screen shot. The screen will dim, move the crosshair to where you want to start capturing, as you drag the mouse the area you are highlighting will return to its former colour.

As soon as you release the left mouse button, your screen image will be placed in Onenote. If you don’t capture the area you want, simply press the Esc button on top left hand corner of the keyboard and start again.

Go to Paint.net click Edit, Paste into New Image.

Click File, save as, type in a file name and click Save.

If you wish, add arrows to show highlights as shown below.

Arrow size and colour are determined by tools, brush width, fill and colour.

Insert Picture into Live Writer

Click on add picture, select and insert.

To change the size of inserted picture, click on Advanced, make sure Lock Ratio is ticked, click on size required, height will be automatically adjusted by clicking in the height box. If the image properties pane is not shown, click on picture again to select.
